Excellent wedding photography not only communicates a story; it also communicates the values of an individual, a family, or a group.
By simplifying the scene of the groomsmen praying with the groom before his ceremony, we eliminate the visual clutter on the walls and in the room.
Rather than hoping that the groomsmen would leave an opening to shoot through, I invited them to stand with the groom in the middle and made a few quick and unobtrusive refinements before they started praying.
Whenever you’re shooting photos of people praying, it's important to document their values without distracting from the sacredness of the moment. That means limiting the number of times your camera clicks to a few frames.
Using a handheld light to illuminate the groom, the men in the front, as well as the back, thus combine to create an X pattern.
All of our attention here goes to highlight the groom and preserve for his potential future children the values their father has.
